Carson International Announces ESPN Show Dog Championship Series TV Schedule
(Ketchum, ID) - March 20, 2009 – Carson International announced today that for the first time in its eight-year history, the ESPN Show Dog Championship will be broadcast in high-definition on ESPN.
The ESPN Show Dog Championship is a series of two all-breed conformation shows (“Best-In-Show”) that is sanctioned by the American Kennel Club. For 2009, the Detroit Kennel Club and the Oklahoma City Summer Classic Dog Show will host the programs. Both shows have previously hosted the series on multiple occasions: Detroit in 2001, 2002 and 2004 and Oklahoma City from 2006 - 2008. Since its inception in 2001, the series has been presented by Nestlé Purina PetCare®.
The series is owned and managed by Carson International, Inc., national leaders in televised dog programming. Tampa Digital Studios directs and produces the programs in conjunction with Carson International. “We are excited about being able to offer the ESPN Show Dog Championship in high definition on ESPN this year to our viewers. The beauty of the dogs and the competition are spectacular,” said Paul Carson, CEO of Carson International.
Added Jim Kopcik, Producer at Tampa Digital Studios, "This is the first year all of the dog show programs are being produced in HD, and the first time any show dog program will air in HD on ESPN."
